Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Program
The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Program is administered by the U.S Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance. This program assists states and local units of government in the development and implementation of substance use treatment programs in state, local and tribal correctional and detention facilities. Funding also assists with the development and maintenance of community reintegration services for individuals after they are released from incarceration. Community reintegration services include treatment programming and broad-based aftercare services.
In the State of New Mexico, RSAT funding is utilized to support residential, jail-based, and aftercare programs aimed at providing substance abuse treatment and reducing recidivism. Partnerships with community-based substance use treatment programs are given priority consideration for funding. This programming includes but is not limited to Substance Abuse Counseling, Relapse Prevention, Anger/Stress Management and Family Roles/Building Relationships.
