Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Anti-Methamphetamine Program (CAMP)
COPS Anti-Methamphetamine Program (CAMP) is a competitive award program with a focus on advancing public safety by providing funds to investigate illicit activities related to the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine. CAMP provides funding directly to state law enforcement agencies in states with high seizures of precursor chemicals, finished methamphetamine, laboratories, and laboratory dump seizures for the purpose of locating and investigating illicit activities including precursor diversion, laboratories, or methamphetamine traffickers.
Currently, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety (NMDPS) is partnered with the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) to implement methamphetamine investigations and operations throughout the state. The State Police work in conjunction with the seven regional task forces located around the state in order to conduct multi-jurisdictional investigations. This initiative is critical to the NMDPS’s NMSP efforts to combat illicit methamphetamine activity throughout the State of New Mexico.
Eligibility
Eligibility is limited only to state law enforcement agencies authorized by law or by a state agency to engage in (or to supervise) anti-methamphetamine investigative activities.
