Dona Ana County, NM – On July 30, 2022, at around 10:09 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on the Nasa Road off-ramp, on US 70, east of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The initial investigation shows a 2002 Chevrolet truck was traveling west on US 70 approaching the Nasa Road exit. As the Chevrolet took the Nasa Road off-ramp, the rear passenger tire experience a blowout and the Chevrolet rolled. The passenger of the Chevrolet, Odalis Aguilar Hernandez (25) of Las Cruces, NM was transported by emergency medical personnel to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a twenty-seven-year-old male was treated by emergency medical personnel on the scene.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and seatbelts do appear to have been properly utilized.
