Guadalupe County, NM – On March 21, 2022, at around 8:30 a.m., a New Mexico State Police officer on patrol was dispatched to a motorist assist on Interstate 40 near milepost 260 west of Santa Rosa, NM.
The officer located the vehicle, a silver Chevrolet hatchback passenger car, which was out of gas and had a dead battery. The car had a Missouri license plate and was occupied by two males and a female. The officer became suspicious when he ran the license plate through dispatch and there was no information in the system on the vehicle. As the officer tried to identify the males, they gave him conflicting information. The officer detained the males for concealing their identities, and through investigation learned they were both wanted for 2nd-degree murder out of Shelby County, Tennessee.
