Taos County, NM – On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at around 5:13 a.m., New Mexico State Police was alerted to a single-vehicle crash on State Road 76 at milepost 26 at the intersection of El Valle Road, between Chamisal and Trampas, NM
The initial investigation indicates that a 2004 Ford pickup, driven by John Dickson, 43, of Truchas, NM was traveling north on State Road 76. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Mr. Dickson was ejected, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and a seatbelt does not appear to have been properly worn at the time of the crash. This crash is being investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
